Love One Another

If you refuse to love, you must remain dead; to hate your brother is to be a murderer. (1John 3:15)

Can you imagine watching someone you love more than anything else in the world being subject to all manner of abuse, torture and punishment? Your husband, wife, your child? Mary, mother of Jesus, endured succh torment. During Jesus' trial he was subject to terrible punishments and humiliations; on the cross, his treatment was brutal and barbaric. Mary's suffering was unspeakable, herr anguish unbearable, the depth of her sorrow untold. At the foot of the cross she did not retaliate. She humbly bore her cross as Jesus humbly bore his. She opened her heart to receive this sorrow and fully embraced it. She is truly the Mother of Sorrows. She shows us how to forgive, how to love, how to suffer.

Lord God, teach me to accept suffering, anguish and any ordeal, with faith, hope and trust in you.

October is a month of Rosary. Praying Rosary with Mother Mary will lead us to experience the peace, joy and love that Jesus showers on us. Let us be united to Jesus and look forward to be shareholders of the kingdom of God through the intercession of Mother Mary.
